Research & Development
Huawei has over 70,000 product and solution R&D employees, comprising more than 45% of the total workforce worldwide. There are 16 R&D centers around the world, including Germany, Sweden, the US, France, Italy, Russia, India, China and Canada. In addition, there are 28 joint innovation centers with major carriers to translate leading technologies into a competitive edge and business success for customers.
As of December 31, 2012, Huawei had filed 41,948 patent applications in China, 12,453 under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), and 14,494 outside China. Among these applications, 30,240 patents have been granted.
In Canada, Huawei conducts innovative and leading edge research in 5G technologies, along with advanced development of emerging cloud, device and network technologies and services. Our renowned Canada Research Centre in the thriving technology landscape of Kanata, Ontario continues to grow rapidly in size and strategic product initiatives. In 2010, Huawei received a $6.5 million grant from the Ontario government in support of its 5-year $67 million investment in R&D in Canada.
Sales & Marketing
Huawei ranked third in global smartphone shipments in 2013 and is bringing more cutting edge smartphones and devices into the hands of Canadians now and in years to come. Exciting opportunities within the Consumer Business Group include those in sales, marketing and technical support.

Professional and Administrative Roles
Platform staff are critical in supporting major Huawei projects and initiatives, and we require professionals in Legal, Human Resources, Accounting and Reception staff in various Huawei locations.
Working with most of the major carriers across Canada, Huawei builds fast and reliable network systems. Roles within this division are wide ranging – everything from Engineers to Technical experts and Procurement Specialists to Project Managers.
